SpendBuddy – Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SpendBuddy. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1) About SpendBuddy
SpendBuddy helps you track subscriptions and recurring bills, set reminders, record/confirm charges, and view insights such as trends and changes over time.
SpendBuddy is not a bank, payment processor, or licensed financial institution. The app does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any information shown in the app is for informational purposes only.
2) Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to use the app in your jurisdiction and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
3) Accounts & Data (Local-First)
SpendBuddy may be used without creating an account. Depending on your device and settings, your data may be stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for:
- Entering accurate information (amounts, dates, billing cycle, trial end dates, etc.).
- Maintaining access to your device and protecting it (passcode, biometrics, backups where applicable).
- Backing up your data if you choose to export/backup (where the app provides such features).
4) License & Acceptable Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SpendBuddy for personal, lawful purposes, in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or sublicense the app or any part of it except as permitted by law.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code except where permitted by law.
- Use the app in any unlawful manner or to interfere with the app’s normal operation.
5) Pro Subscription & In-App Purchases
SpendBuddy may offer paid features via in-app purchases, including an auto-renewable subscription (“Pro”). Prices, billing periods, and included features are shown in the app and/or on the relevant store checkout screen.
5.1 Auto-renewal
If you purchase an auto-renewable subscription, it will renew automatically unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
5.2 Free trials & introductory offers
If a free trial or introductory offer is available, eligibility and duration are determined by the store. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you may be charged the subscription fee.
5.3 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their policies and your region. SpendBuddy does not control refund decisions.
6) Notifications
If you enable reminders, SpendBuddy may send local notifications (e.g., upcoming renewals, bills due, trial endings, or alerts). Delivery may be affected by your device settings, operating system restrictions, and other factors. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
7) Third-Party Links & Services
The app may provide links or guidance to manage or cancel subscriptions via Apple/Google or third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party content, services, availability, or policies. Your use of third-party websites or services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
8) Disclaimers
SpendBuddy is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that reminders/alerts will be delivered on time.
You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on information in the app.
9) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpendBuddy and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app.
To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims will not exceed the amount you paid (if any) for SpendBuddy in the last 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide notice in the app or via our website. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11) Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms or use the app unlawfully. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.
