Film Product Videos on iPhone with Parallel
Film product videos on iPhone with Parallel. Build a useful shot list, choose Dual or Director, and review your footage before editing.
Customers want to see how a product looks, how it works and which details matter. When you film product videos on iPhone, a clear shot list helps you collect footage that answers those questions.
Parallel can support two parts of the shoot. Dual records portrait and landscape files simultaneously with the rear camera. On supported devices, Director combines a live view of the product with the presenter. Choose the mode that fits the information each shot needs to communicate.
Turn customer questions into a shot list
For a bag, customers may want to understand its size, inside compartments, strap length and how it sits on a shoulder. For a coffee accessory, they may need to see assembly, use and the finished result.
Turn each question into a specific shot. A simple starting list is an overall view, a detail, a demonstration and the product in its everyday setting.
Give each shot a job. This makes it easier to check whether you have enough material before packing away the setup.
Use Dual for portrait and landscape footage
Place the product on a tidy surface, choose consistent lighting and open Dual. Check both the 9:16 and 16:9 previews before recording. Handles, straps and accessories should remain visible in the versions you intend to use.
If hands enter the frame, rehearse the complete movement. A composition that fits a stationary object may be too tight when you open a lid or lift it off the table. Adjust the phone position before recording.
Dual is useful when the same action will become source material for different layouts. See the TikTok and YouTube filming workflow for ideas on organizing those outputs.
Use Director for a live explanation
Some details benefit from a person explaining them. Director lets the rear camera show the product while the front camera records the presenter in the same composed video.
With Picture in Picture, place your face away from the demonstration area. If you are pointing out a seam or pressing a button, keep that detail unobstructed. Record one sentence and review whether the viewer can follow your hands.
Director requires supported simultaneous front and rear capture. If it is unavailable, you can still collect product footage with Dual and add an explanation through a suitable workflow afterward.
Review before clearing the table
- 1.Check the product's appearance and visible details under your chosen light.
- 2.Listen to the explanation and verify any names, sizes or specifications you mentioned.
- 3.Review both formats if you recorded with Dual.
- 4.Save the files you need to Photos or your chosen storage.
- 5.Continue with pricing, captions and editing in your preferred tool.
Parallel helps capture the product and your presentation. Check commercial information such as prices, availability and specifications before publishing the finished video.
A focused first shoot does not need many scenes. Four clear shots that answer real questions can give you a useful starting point for an edit.
