1. Introduction and scope
This Privacy Policy explains how OrderPad, an app published under the BuddyApp product name by [LEGAL_COMPANY_NAME] (“BuddyApp”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), handles information when you use the OrderPad mobile application.
OrderPad is a staff-only order-taking and point-of-sale support tool for cafés and small restaurants. This policy applies to the OrderPad app and related support interactions. It does not replace the privacy policies of your device manufacturer, app store, printer provider, file-storage provider, or another service you choose to use.
2. Data handled by OrderPad
OrderPad is local-first, is designed to work offline, and does not currently require a customer account or staff login. Business and order data is primarily stored on the device where the app is used.
- Business details, including shop name, address, phone number, logo, and payment QR image.
- Menu data, including categories, products, prices, product images, and modifiers.
- Operational data, including tables, orders, guest counts, order items, notes, totals, payment methods, and payment status.
- Receipts, reports, daily closing information, and printer configuration.
- Any information that a user voluntarily enters into free-text fields.
3. Local data and information received by BuddyApp
OrderPad does not currently operate a cloud backend for app data. BuddyApp does not automatically receive the business, menu, table, order, transaction, receipt, or backup data stored in the app.
BuddyApp may receive information that you choose to send outside the app, such as an email, support request, screenshot, exported report, backup file, or diagnostic detail. We use that information to respond to your request, investigate an issue, protect the service, or meet applicable legal obligations. Do not send a backup or operational record unless it is necessary for support and you are authorized to share it.
4. Device permissions
OrderPad requests access only when a supported feature needs it. The exact permission wording and controls depend on your device and operating-system version. You can review or revoke permissions in system settings, but the related feature may then stop working.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Scan product codes and, where supported, capture or select product-related images. |
| Photos | Select product photos, a business logo, or a payment QR image. |
| Bluetooth | Discover and connect to compatible receipt printers. |
| Files and sharing | Export or import user-initiated backup files, PDFs, and reports, and share them through destinations you select. |
| Printing services | Generate or print receipts and reports using compatible system services or hardware. |
5. Backups, exports, imports, and sharing
Backup and restore actions are initiated by the user. A backup file may contain business, menu, table, order, and transaction records. Media binaries such as product photos, logos, and QR images may not be included, so a restored copy may be incomplete.
You control where an exported backup, PDF, receipt, or report is stored or shared. Once a file leaves OrderPad, it is handled by the destination, recipient, device, or third-party service you selected and is subject to their security and privacy practices. BuddyApp does not automatically receive exported or imported backup files.
6. Platform and system services
OrderPad relies on operating-system features and may interact with an app store, camera, photo library, Bluetooth stack, file picker, sharing sheet, printing service, or compatible printer. Those platforms and services may process technical or usage information under their own terms and privacy policies.
No advertising SDK, behavioral tracking, or analytics is intentionally included in the current OrderPad app. OrderPad does not process online payments; it only records the payment method and payment status entered by staff.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data remains on the device until you delete individual records, use the in-app “Clear all data” function, clear application data through the operating system, restore another backup, or uninstall the app. Operating-system and external storage behavior may affect whether separate copies remain elsewhere.
To remove OrderPad’s local operational data, open the app settings, choose “Clear all data”, read the confirmation carefully, and confirm only when you intend to permanently clear the app’s data on that device.
8. Security and your responsibilities
Local-first storage reduces routine transfer of operational data to BuddyApp, but no device, file, storage method, or transmission is completely secure. OrderPad does not promise that all local data is encrypted.
You are responsible for securing devices used by staff, applying suitable screen locks and operating-system updates, limiting physical and digital access, protecting exported files, choosing trusted sharing destinations, and maintaining appropriate backups. If a device is lost, shared, compromised, or disposed of, take the protective steps available through its operating system.
9. Sale of data, advertising, and profiling
BuddyApp does not sell personal data handled by OrderPad. OrderPad is not designed to serve targeted advertising or create behavioral advertising profiles.
If these practices or the app architecture materially change, we will update this policy and, where appropriate, provide notice through the app, website, or store listing.
10. Children’s privacy
OrderPad is a business operations tool for cafés and restaurants and is not directed to children. Businesses should not allow children to use the app to enter personal information.
11. International users
OrderPad may be used in different countries. You are responsible for determining whether your use of the app and the records you enter meet the privacy, employment, tax, consumer, retention, and other legal requirements that apply to your business and location.
If you voluntarily send support information to BuddyApp, it may be processed where BuddyApp or its service providers handle the request, subject to applicable law and the safeguards available for that support channel.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to OrderPad, our practices, or applicable requirements. The revised version will show a new effective or last-updated date. Material changes may also be highlighted through an appropriate product or website notice.
